This past Saturday, I had the privilege to attend my first Vibe Fest: Earthly Vibrations Festival in the midtown area of Jackson, hosted by Jax-Zen Healing Arts Center. This celebration was held to promote local arts and social justice projects while increasing the awareness of sustainable living in conjunction with our environment. I felt it met it’s goal to bring in conscious fellowship with our fellow man and mother earth and all it’s sentient beings.
There were many lovely vendors sharing wonderful handmade or natural items along with complementary healthcare products and modalities. I saw or sampled everything from T-shirts, to tie-dyed items, to coffee, to herbal tinctures, to candles, and the list goes on. I experienced a lovely group meditation and shared my love of Reiki with others. There was a wonderful yoga class and sound healing with singing bowls. A handful of beautiful souls from the community shared their stories and work with the crowd.
The smell of delectable delights offered by our food vendors was heavenly. And quite tasty. And I can’t forget about the groovy music provided by a DJ, live bands and performers.
I definitely plan to attend again next year.
